Some exciting news for Mourning Market! For some time now, Alicia and Ginger have been looking for a way to take Mourning Market to the next level. With a lot of brainstorming and the collaboration of VELVET and Alicia Ann, NOCTURNE was born. NOCTURNE will be an evening event of decadently dark entertainment including music, fashion, performances, art, exhibits, designers, Fetish and more. Our goal is to provide an exceptional experience for our attendees while supporting our unique and dark community and the various artists that make it so special. NOCTURNE will be tentatively held the 1st Friday of every month starting with our first show on April 6th 2012. So without further ado, we present to you NOCTURNE…..

Greetings,

We are so delighted to announce that Mourning Market has a new home...Velvet! Velvet is located across from the Showbox Sodo on 1st Ave. The building is over 100 years old with old world charm and beautiful details. When you enter the surroundings it is like entering a supper club from yesteryear with dark elegance.
We have a full stage with room for 34 vendor booths and 3 sponsor booths. The booth spaces with be comparable to Motor ( being at least 6 feet wide and 4 feet deep).
With this move, Mourning Market will be elevated to a new height... elegant, dark, and most certainly an amazing place to showcase your art.
Our next show is tentativley scheduled for December 11th from 12-5.

IMPORTANT NEWS regarding Mourning Market. Motor is sadly closing its doors Sept 1st. We'll be having a farewell show Aug 21st. We're currently looking for a new venue and have a few options but would love all suggestions. So please feel free to comment or contact us! If you would like to be a part of our farewell show please fill out an application. With this sad news brings new beginnings, and we're determined to find a new venue that is equally as incredible as MOTOR. Thank you MOTOR, Dayna, Brian, & Joe. Greetings!

We are now accepting applications for our 3 upcoming Mourning Market shows. The first show is October 17th at club Motor in Seattle. The show will be from 12-5. The next show will be at Hell's Kitchen in Tacoma on November 14th from 12-5, and the last show of the year will be December 12th at club Motor from 12-5. All shows are $40 if you have a city of Seattle business license and $45 if you do not.
For the October show at Motor we will once again have the body bags. If you want to do that show, we encourage you to donate items to the goodie bags. It's a great way to advertise and everyone loves to get spooky free goodies.
As for the Show at Hell's Kitchen, the venue is much smaller than Motor, and it can only hold approx 25 vendors. Please keep that in mind.
When you apply, please specify what show you want to be part of. If you want to do more than 1 show, please fill out separate applications for each show and specify for each. You can get the applications on our website mourningmarket.com

Miss Oblivious, a Seattle-based custom portrait doll-maker, writer, film producer/director, and artist, produces a public-access TV show in which she exhibits short films featuring talented artist and performers. Miss Oblivious also publishes "Oblivious Nation" formerly "Cunt Fear", a zine documenting her life world, and messes since 1994.

A group of us sinister crafters had crossed paths before but had not yet been contained in one room. So at the end of three days filled with horror and zombie filled goodness, we said goodbye until next time. But when will that be I wonder?

Portland's community had many events for us to sell our wares. But we all call Seattle our home, so why is it all business and no fun?! Miss Ginger called on the ladies to attend Dark Tea where we plotted and schemed... Mourning Market was born!
